All techniques which rely on trial and error as centric relation and vertical dimension are iatrogenic unacceptable. The approach for the simultaneous registration of Vertical Occlusal Dimension (VOD) and Centric Occlusal Posture (COP) by the act of swallowing (and this can be ad infinitum) can localize the position of the mandible to the cranium without any possibility of error.
